Attending CHRIS Conference in Miami

Every year, the city of Miami holds the “Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit”, better known as CHRIS Conference. This annual event, key to recognize those projects to come in the Caribbean Region, gathers entrepreneurs, hoteliers, developers, investors and any other related to the hospitality sector. The three days of presentations are accompanied by frantic work, technical papers, meetings, round table discussions, networking… and other gatherings between professionals.
Humiclima has attended CHRIS several times before now, this time the ones to pay a visit where workfellows from our Miami office that have not missed the opportunity to walk along the aisles of JW Marriott Marquis and talk to other partners and colleagues.
In addition, last two events were quite remarkable for Humiclima and some of the projects being developed by the company lately because both, this year and last one, two of those projects where Humiclima was involved in have been awarded as Development of the Year. In particular, Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall & Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall (Jamaica) won Development of the Year 2014. This very year, among the three finalists were included Courtyard by Marriott (Jamaica), first hospitality construction in Kingston in 30 years, the first Courtyard branded hotel in Jamaica and the country´s first silver-certified LEED hotel, other of the three finalists also belongs to the Marriott family, Marriott Port Au Prince (Haiti). The construction of this hotel and its further opening in 2015 is full of symbolism as it represents a step ahead in the image of progress and recovery Haiti wants to show the world after the destructive earthquake of 2010. In the end was the Marriott in Haiti the one to win the CHRIS Development of the Year 2015 Award.
Humiclima has carried out all MEP Installations of these three hotels: Hyatt Jamaica, Marriott Jamaica and Marriot Haiti as well as DESIGN in two of them (Hyatt Jamaica and Marriott Haiti).
